Aarhus Ultimate

Aarhus Ultimate Frisbee Club was founded in 1992. Since then, the club has undergone a few name changes and is now called Aarhus Ultimate, being the only club in Aarhus. Aarhus Ultimate aims to preserve and promote social interaction around frisbee and ultimate in Aarhus. Additionally, the club seeks to elevate the level of play for both recreational and elite players.

What is Ultimate? Ultimate is a non-contact team sport played with a flying disc/Frisbee. The objective is to catch the disc in the opponent’s endzone to score points. The player with the disc cannot run, so the game involves a series of explosive accelerations to get free from opponents, allowing the disc to be passed without interception. The player with the disc cannot hesitate: if it’s not thrown within 10 seconds, there’s a turnover, and the other team gets possession! There are three different divisions: Open (typically the men’s division), women, and mixed gender. In Aarhus Ultimate, we play all three, so there’s definitely a team that suits you!

Women's training

Women’s training, as the name might suggest, is exclusively for women. Here, you have the opportunity to play with – and learn from – some of the country’s absolute best Ultimate players. It’s no joke that the Aarhus women hold the gold in 3 out of 4 national championships! The training is open to all disc-loving women, but you’ll likely get the most out of it if you have a grasp of the basic concepts. If you’re new to Ultimate, we recommend prioritizing beginner training. However, if you’re up for two intense training sessions per week, check out the training times below on this page.

Outdoor Practice:

The practice takes place here, on the lawn on the other side of Viborgvej near Bilka Tilst.

Men's training

Aarhus Ultimate’s men’s team, or the “Open Team” as it is officially called, is often found in the top 3 when it comes to national championships. The ambition is gold, and it’s clearly evident during training! The drills are technically demanding, and there are high physical requirements. However, men’s training is still open to all paying members who are ready to develop their skills on the field. Check out the training times below on this page.

Mixed training

Here, both men and women play on a mixed team, and players are matched up against opponents to ensure an equal gender distribution on both teams. This creates a whole new dynamic on the field and an entirely new game within the game. Everyone is welcome to participate in such training sessions! In fact, all introductory sessions are also mixed training. Often, introductory sessions will focus more on beginners at the start of the season, and then the focus shifts more towards general mixed training later in the season – but ALL are welcome to these sessions, regardless of skill level and experience.
